How Far From Stability Can We Go Using Gammasphere and the FMA?

چکیده
This paper presents new results obtained using the U.S. national gamma-ray facility Gammasphere, which has been operating at the ATLAS accelerator at Argonne National Laboratory since January 1998. Gammasphere was built at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and used primarily as a powerful spectrometer for studying nuclei at the highest spins [1].

How Useful Are Early Economic Models?; Comment on “Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modelling”
Early economic modelling has long been recommended to aid research and development (R&D;) decisions in medical innovation, although they are less frequently published and critically appraised. A review of 30 innovations by Grutters et al provides an opportunity to evaluate how early models are used in practice. The evidence of early models can be used to inform two types...
متن کاملIn - beam y - ray spectroscopy in the ground - st ate proton emitter ' I 3 Cs
Gamma-ray transitions in the ground-state proton emitter '13Cs have been identified using the reaction 58Ni(58Ni,p2n) at a beam energy of 230 MeV and the recoil decay tagging technique. The first experiment was done using the Recoil Mass Spectrometer at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility where y-ray transitions were detected with 6 Clover and 5 Duet Ge detectors. A follow-up experiment...
متن کاملDifferences Among Cell-structure Ontologies: FMA, GO, & CCO
When different groups create models or ontologies of the same knowledge domain, this creates challenges for knowledge sharing. To identify these challenges, we compare cellular structure as modeled by the Foundational Model of Anatomy(FMA), the Gene Ontology (GO), and the Cell Component Ontology (CCO). These ontologies all model the physical anatomy of a cell, and we expected them to be similar...
متن کاملI. Heavy-Ion Nuclear Physics Research -15- B. STRUCTURE OF NUCLEI NEAR, AT AND BEYOND THE PROTON DRIPLINE
The program to explore the structure and stability of nuclei along the proton dripline continues to be a forefront theme in our nuclear structure research. It has many interesting facets, both for astrophysical processes and for extending our understanding of the structure and stability of nuclei. It provides a natural bridge that connects contemporary research with future projects which exploi...
متن کاملSpectroscopy of Neutron-Deficient Nuclei Near the Z=82 Closed Shell via Symmetric Fusion Reactions
In-beam and decay-spectroscopy studies of neutron-deficient nuclei near the Z=82 shell closure were carried out using the Fragment Mass Analyzer (FMA) and the Gammasphere array, in conjunction with symmetric fusion reactions and the Recoil Decay Tagging (RDT) technique. The primary motivation was to study properties of 179Tl and 180Tl, and their daughter, and grand-daughter isotopes. For the fi...
